Our October Featured Wine Destination is Pride Mountain Vineyards, a high elevation winery that straddles the border of Sonoma and Napa Counties between Santa Rosa and St. Helena. Pride is one of few cave tours I recommend, as the caves are somewhat unique and integrate a tasting in the process. If caves are not your thing, the tasting room is a pleasant experience and the wines are worth the trip.
My favorite Pride Mountain wines are Merlot and Cabernet Franc, but several other varietals are outstanding – Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah. Since their vineyards span two counties, labels may indicate that wines are produced from grapes grown in Sonoma County or Napa Valley – it all depends on the particular bloc.
Reservations are required – see information in our Wine Destinations Directory: Pride Mountain Vineyards.
