Producer: Produced for Costco by Botter SPA, northeast Italy (see map below). Botter was founded in 1928 as a bulk wine producer and began bottling in the 1960’s. Large producer of traditional Italian wines for domestic and export markets.
Pinot Grigio.
Vineyards: Friuli Grave (see dark blue on vineyard areas map).
Production: Fermented in steel tanks. Per the label, production is “mis en bouteillé”- a wine term that indicates every step of production occured under the producer’s control. Typically, it means that grapes were grown in estate vineyards and then crushed, fermented, and bottled all at one facility. In general, this is an indication that the wine is of good or superior quality.
Alcohol By Volume (ABV): 12.5%
