Bouchon Bistro is a culinary cornerstone in the central Napa Valley community of Yountville. The vibe and seating is French country, but the food is French bistro fare well-suited for American palates. Steak, lamb, fish and more grace the menu, each prepared to perfection and delivered with extraordinary service.
The wine list is comprehensive and offers something for everyone. On my last visit I started my meal with a glass of very good local Sauvignon Blanc for about $15, while on the next page of the wine list French reds were available for $300 to $400 (per glass).
Seating is bistro-style, with just a few outdoor tables along Washington Street (downtown Yountville’s main street). That paper wrapper around the napkins? Unfold to read today’s menu printed inside.
Reservations are recommended, but mid-afternoon tables are often available to walk-ins during the week and on off-season weekends.
