Trattoria Martone entranceOur September Featured Destination is Trattoria Martone, serving authentic Italian food in Fairfield, Napa’s next door neighbor to the east. If you like going out for Italian meals, you may already know the difference between a ristorante and a trattoria. Simply put, a ristorante is typically a fine dining establishment found in main business areas and a trattoria is an off-main street, family-run eatery popular with locals that serves traditional-style dishes. Trattoria Martone, which opened in late August, fits the trattoria description perfectly.

The food is simple and traditional, served in large portions and absolutely delicious. The wine list features primarily local vineyards, also a few imports to provide a good range of food pairing options.

Located in an industrial area just a few minutes off Interstate 80 (main highway connecting San Francisco with Sacramento), Trattoria Martone is easy to get to but you need to know where you’re going. Hours are typical for restaurants serving a working crowd – lunch 11:30am to 2:30pm and dinner 4:30pm to 10pm. Closed Sunday, Monday and holidays.

Reservations are available by phone (707-759-2618) or on Open Table.
