National Frozen Yogurt Day celebrates that cold, tasty treat that goes well with a huge range of toppings, from sprinkles to warm chocolate syrup. Frozen yogurt was invented in 1970 and was originally produced by just a few companies, primarily manufacturers of traditional yogurt. Ice cream makers soon realized how easy it was to change out the ingredients on their production lines and use many of the same processes used to make ice cream to make frozen yogurt. The increase in availability increased its popularity and demand.
National Frozen Yogurt Day is celebrated annually on February 6th.
