We just added two whiskey movies to our library of Wine Adventure Films – stories from Adventures In The World Of Wine And Adjacent Amusements™. Truthfully, one is a film about relationships that features whiskey and the other is… well, keep reading.

See trailers and more information about these films by visiting our Wine Adventure Films page. While you’re there, please suggest fresh titles from your favorite wine, beer, spirits, food and travel films. Cheers!

Lost In Translation (2003) When a famous American actor on the downside of a successful career (Bill Murray) is brought to Japan to promote Suntory whiskey, he makes friends with a young American women also staying at his hotel (Scarlett Johansson). Whiskey lovers will note a couple fine bottles used as props in photo shoots and served at the hotel bar.

Parks And Recreation (2009-2015) OK, this was a TV show, not a movie. It warrants mention because of frequent references to Lagavulin Scotch, the preferred whiskey of iconic character Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman). Although it seemed that Lagavulin was a fake, humorously-named brand inserted by the show’s writers, it is indeed real and produced on the Scottish island of Islay. Lagavulin released a special Offerman Edition to honor the Swanson character for promoting their brand worldwide.
