Our Wine Of The Week is 2016 Hope & Grace Russian River Valley Pinoir Noir from Sonoma County, California. The Russian River AVA produces a lot of great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, influenced by past and present wetlands, rich soils and cool ocean breezes. The 2016 Hope & Grace Pinot reflects the region, with deep aromas of rich fruit and subtle notes of cherry, vanilla and spice on the palate. A very nice wine to enjoy with chicken or turkey or a chunk of cheese on warm bread (Parmigiano Reggiano, Gouda, Havarti or Jarlsberg).
I picked up this wine for just under $60 at Hope & Grace’s tasting room in Yountville (map below), where you can also sample a broad range of their premium wines – red, white and pink. I highly recommend stopping in on your next visit to Napa Valley.
Cheers!
