2018 Acquiesce IngénueOur Wine Of The Week is 2018 Acquiesce Winery Ingénue, a premium white wine from the Lodi area in Northern California, near Gold Country. This vintage sold out soon after release, so it may be nearly impossible to find in retail or even buy at the winery. The 2019 vintage will be released in August 2020.

Ingénue is a smooth blend of grapes of French origin, of which Grenache Blanc is probably the one most commonly grown in California. The blend includes 35% Clairette Blanche, 35% Grenache Blanc, 20% Bourboulenc and 10% Picpoul Blanc grown in the Lodi Mokelumne River AVA (see map). The result is an excellent summer sip with soft minerality and citrus. Alcohol is moderate 13%. Retail is $30 – $35.

Enjoy with chicken, shrimp or light fish. I also classify Ingénue as a wonderful warm afternoon and evening sip.
