2021 Jean-Marie Reverdy & Fils Sancerre La Villaudiere Sauvignon BlancOur Wine Of The Week is 2021 Jean-Marie Reverdy & Fils Sancerre La Villaudiere Sauvignon Blanc, a dry white wine from the upper Loire Valley in France.

Sancerre is known as the best Sauvignon Blanc growing region in France. Wines from this area have a distinct minerality that is influenced by clay and limestone soils. In addition to being a fine sip and great for pairing with seafood or poultry, this Sauvingnon Blanc also adds notable flavor to recipes that call for a dry white wine. Fermented in steel tanks, look for citrus, peach, flint, and subtle floral notes.

The 2021 vintage is very drinkable now, but will get better over the next few years. Cellar a few bottles and taste again in three years. Retails around $25 – $30.

Jean-Marie Reverdy & Fils (“& Fils” is French for “& Sons”) is a family vineyard near the village of La Villaudiere and this wine was made by Jean-Marie’s son, Guillaume.

Cheers!
