Our Wine Of The Week is Davero Farms & Winery‘s Hawk Mountain Estate Vineyard Sagrantino Riserva 2012, a rich, full-bodied sip. Sagrantino is an Italian grape grown primarily in the Umbria region of Italy, in Australia, and in small amounts in California, Texas, North Carolina and Washington in the United States. It thrives in warmer climates and has twice the tannin of Cabernet Sauvignon. Decant for at least a few hours prior to sipping and you’ll be rewarded with a rich bouquet of dark berries and plum, leather and earth on the palette. Alcohol 14.5%. $95 retail from the winery.
Cheers!
