Flowers Vineyards and Winery 2015 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast featuredOur Wine Of The Week is Flowers 2015 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast. We’ll be looking at white wines through most of the summer, and this Chardonnay is perfect for warm afternoon sipping and pairing with light summer foods. Not overpowering with subtle lemon, pear and white flowers backed by soft acidity and light oak. Well structured and suitable for putting down for a few years to mellow. Alcohol 13.4%. Retail around $50. Wine Enthusiast 91 points.

Most retailers have sold out of the 2015 vintage, so I recommend trying the 2016, also 91 points from Wine Enthusiast and retailing about $50. Flowers Vineyards and Winery is producer of premium Chardonnay and Pinto Noir wines. Their facility is located in Cazadero, CA – near the Pacific coast northeast of Guernville. The winery is not open to the public, but they plan to offer tastings in Healdsburg in the future. Wines can be purchased through allocation, visit their web site for details.

Cheers!
