Our Wine Of The Week is Norton 2014 Malbec Reserva from the famous Mendoza region of Argentina. Bodega Norton, located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, was founded by Englishman Edmund Norton in 1895. He planted French Malbec rootstock, a varietal well-suited for the terrain and growing conditions that now accounts for the majority of Argentina’s national wine production. The Norton 2014 Malbec Reserva is an especially good vintage, winning excellent reviews from James Suckling (91 pts), Wine Spectator (90 pts), and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (90 pts).
If you like the deep red color, dense fruit and hint of tobacco found in good Malbec, you’ll find it here. Norton 2014 Malbec Reserva is 100% Malbec aged 12 months in French oak and 10 months in the bottle to round out excellent characteristics on the nose and palate. Drink 2018 to 2022. Alcohol is 13.5%. To make this excellent sip even more attractive, it comes at an excellent price, about $17 at most wine retailers. Check out the current price on Wine.com: Norton 2014 Malbec Reserva – Red Wine
