Our Wine Of The Week is VJB Cellars 2015 “V” Cabernet Sauvignon. VJB Vineyards & Cellars produces primarily Italian varietal wines, though the “V” Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from Bordeaux-style grapes sourced from Sonoma Valley estate vineyards in Sonoma County (see Note 1). This is a rich Cab with black berries, caramel and vanilla up front and a deep purple color. Licorice and a hint of chocolate come through soft tannins for a hearty pair with beef dishes. Alcohol 14.5%. Retails $62.
VJB wines are sold only at their Glen Ellen tasting room, about twenty minutes north of downtown Sonoma. In addition to the tasting room, there’s a pizza restaurant, food retail and more on-site. See our wine destination listing: VJB Cellars, Glen Ellen.
Cheers!
Note 1: Sonoma Valley is a specific growing area within Sonoma County, read our article that explains the AVA.
