Disney’s California Adventure is where visitors to the Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, CA) will find a wide range of kid-friendly rides and attractions, plus a few adult adventures – including wine tasting. For a Disney California Adventure Wine Adventure, I recently stopped in at the Mendocino Terrace alfresco tasting bar, located on Paradise Pier next to the Tuscan-themed Wine Country Trattoria restaurant. The Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar attraction (currently closed for enhancements) is also adjacent to the wine tasting bar.
Some Wine Adventurers may remember this location as the Mondavi wine center from the earliest days of the park, and then most recently the Golden Vine Winery before its current incarnation.
Friendly and knowledgeable Wine Ambassador Zach explained the wine tasting flights, which are offered by style rather than by region or producer, including Festival (pick from available reds and whites), Sweet, Sparkling, Premium (Red flight or White flight), and Port. Prices are comparable to winery tasting fees in Napa or Sonoma (click on photo right).
Below is the full menu of wines offered, which include a wide range of styles and represent most international wine producing regions. Beer and snacks are also offered. Wine prices are by the glass, no bottles are sold at the tasting bar.
Stop in at the Mendocino Wine Terrace on your next visit to the Disneyland Resort for a fun Wine Adventure.
Prefer a cold beer? You’ll find a number of brands and styles at many of the California Adventure restaurants. On Paradise Pier, there’s also walk-up Bayside Brews that serves beer and pretzels to-go (next to Silly Symphony Swings).
